Dying in a Citadel does not let you retry?

Finally found my first Citadel and unfortunately died. It says failed and I can not retry. Is this intended?

I have completed 100+ maps to find my fist one. Seems insane if they don't let you retry and force you to random encounter another one, maybe after another 100+ maps.

Am I missing something here?

Nope, not missing anything. It really is one try and then you get locked out...

Had that happen to me, feels bad. They had that before on even arbiter until they recently changed it.
