Please help me understand this mechanic (Energy Shield)

Ok.. I will probably fell very stupid after reading answer but I don't understand this.

I have around 4600 energy shield with this amulet:



so it has Ancient Aegis installed ("60% increased Energy Shield from Equipped Body Armour" AND +54% to max Energy Shield.

How is it possible that after changing it to this amulet:



Aegis again +
Patient Barrier ("60% increased maximum Energy Shield") and
Melding ("40% increased maximum Energy Shield")

my Energy Shield is 4518?

Ok I see that I am losing 27 INT with this exchange and 54% Energy Shield bonus but % of maximum energy shield in second option is greater so...

Every item in my EQ is active after change.

I don't know the exact equation. But it seem like the bonus from the amulet should be a global end multiplier and the passive node multiply differently. Making the bonus on rare more worth than the passive bonus?

It's basicly just how the equation is calculated.

Both Patient Barrier and Mending are active on my tree and Aegis doesn't change anything since it was there with the first amulet.
