Suggestion for End-of-League Rewards to Enhance Player Experience

Hello GGG Team & Fellow Exiles,

First off, I want to express my appreciation for the depth and complexity of Path of Exile 2. As someone who has recently deep-dived into the ARPG genre with PoE2, I’ve come to understand the importance of league resets and how they keep the game’s economy fresh. However, I’ve noticed that some players find this process frustrating, as their progress feels like it loses value once a league ends and moves to Standard.

To make league resets feel more rewarding while maintaining the integrity of the economy, I’d like to suggest an End-of-League Reward Shop—a system inspired by games like League of Legends, which provide end-of-season rewards to recognize player achievements.

How It Works
Before a league ends, a limited-time shop opens where players can exchange their accumulated resources for rewards.
The items available would depend on the tier of wealth a player has reached during the league. Example tiers:
High Tier: 1 Mirror of Kalandra
Mid Tier: 100 Divine Orbs
Low Tier: 100 Exalted Orbs
The shop can offer cosmetic skins, badges, or unique achievements that carry over to the next league.
A special achievement system could be introduced, allowing players to earn visible rewards (e.g., a badge next to their name, a character effect, an exclusive league portrait frame or achivement stash tab common for all leagues).
Why This Would Be Beneficial
✔ Encourages league participation – Players would feel a stronger incentive to push harder, knowing their efforts will lead to meaningful rewards.
✔ Reduces frustration with league resets – Instead of feeling like progress is lost, players get something valuable to carry forward.
✔ Maintains balance in Standard – Since the shop is only open at the end of a league, it wouldn’t disrupt the game’s long-term economy.
✔ Adds prestige and legacy – Players can showcase their past accomplishments in future leagues, adding a sense of progression beyond just gear and currency.

I truly believe this system could make league resets feel more rewarding while preserving the competitive and seasonal nature of Path of Exile 2. I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether something like this could align with PoE2’s design philosophy.

Thanks for your time, and for all the amazing work you do to make PoE 2 such a great experience!

Hi! Maybe you are new to poe, but people here are kinda used to get a fresh league each 3 or 4 months and to start it over again. It has been like this since more than a decade.

We already have a rewarding system. They offer MTX rewards in each temporary league for doing objetives in the game, usually related to the new content added on this league. It could be things like kill X boss, upgrade Y item, or collecting Z items. Something like that. It is called "Challenges".

There is no current Challenges in poe2 because there is no temporary league yet, but surely they will release it later.

Oh, I see! I mentioned that I’m new to the game, so I wasn’t aware this system already exists in PoE1. I understand that longtime players are used to league resets, and personally, I don’t mind it either—I played League of Legends for years, where all my progress would reset in just 30 minutes.

However, I’ve noticed that many new players find this system frustrating. I’ve seen them express their concerns on forums and under tutorial videos, which is what inspired me to come up with this idea. If a similar system is already in place, then hopefully, it will be expanded or refined in PoE2 to better address these concerns.
