Disappearing global chat and messages

Anyone else experiencing something like this? I play on PC and most of the time I'm not getting or seeing any messages in the global chat even after switching channels or relaunching the client, but I do see chats from trade, party and whispers. At some days I can see chats then for the next day it's gone again. Been trying to replicate the issue but can't seem to pinpoint what's causing it. Not even switching servers or clearing /dnd, /afk and /autoreply.
