PATH OF EXILE 2: THE ENDLESS WANDER
"Path of Exile 2: The Endless Wander"
Ah yes, the POE2 experience: step into the Atlas, immediately trip over a rock, die instantly, and have your entire existence erased from history. It's like playing a roguelike, but without the ability to actually learn from failure. Instead, you stare at the blank void where your progress used to be and contemplate whether it's even worth clicking the next portal. GGG heard players wanted a better endgame, so they said, "Here, have infinite boredom." Every map node you conquer? Meaningless. Every death? A full reset. Every choice? An illusion. You aren't exploring; you're just existing in the purgatory of procedurally generated content. You aren't even a warrior of Wraeclast anymore, you’re just some poor soul doomed to wander an empty, unmarked Atlas, hoping to find meaning in the abyss. And let’s talk about the Waystone “Questline”, because wow, what an exhilarating and dynamic progression system! sarcasm overload What kind of quest design is this? "Oh, you finished the campaign? Congrats, now stack rocks in order!" - Tier 1: Put a rock down. - Tier 2: Put a slightly shinier rock down. - Tier 3: Look at your rock and wonder why you're still here. - Tier 4: Question if this is even a quest or just an elaborate prank. By Tier 5, you've entered a Zen-like state, detached from earthly desires. You have become one with the Atlas. The game has transcended fun, it now exists purely as an endurance test for your sanity. What we actually need: Give us a real, structured questline that doesn’t feel like an Excel spreadsheet full of chores. Let us chase down actual legendary figures, hunt eldritch horrors that matter, or unlock game-changing mechanics. Make us feel like we’re achieving something, even if it means battling a literal god while on fire, bleeding, and cursed with vulnerability. But instead, we get: "Do map, repeat map, die in map, map is gone, repeat nothing." GGG, I love you, but if I wanted to feel like a lost, confused, and permanently unlucky adventurer, I'd just play real life. 100% couldn't agree with this more. The saddest thing is that GGG won't read this nor do they even care. They will lose the 100,000s of players like me and you because they are too prideful to listen to the people they made the game for. That's fine they made their millions. They could just stop with the game all together and they are still rich ASF. They want us to endlessly grind, die repeat. This forum is a joke, their support is a joke and the endgame is a joke. Idk how this went from being the best game and my favorite game to one of the worst and have completely pissed me off.

" "GGG is Reading This, but They're in the Lab Stuck on ‘The Ultimate Solution’" Oh, make no mistake, GGG is definitely reading this. But the problem isn’t ignorance. No, no, no. The problem is that they are currently in a secret underground facility, brainstorming "solutions" while sipping on energy drinks made of pure player suffering. Picture this: The Director, surrounded by whiteboards covered in ancient runes and scribbles that say "More Grinding? No Fun Allowed? Nerf Everything?" One dev cautiously raises a hand, sweat dripping from their brow: Dev 1: "S-Sir, what if we let them re-enter maps / respawn after dying?" Director: [slams desk] "FOOL! That would decrease engagement metrics by 0.0003%! If they finish content too fast, how will they appreciate the journey?!" Another dev, trembling, whispers from the corner: Dev 2: "What if... what if we gave them a real questline instead of just stacking rocks in the Atlas?" Director: [points dramatically at a massive "NEVER" sign] "POE PLAYERS LOVE GRINDING! They will learn to love the rocks! MORE ROCKS!" Meanwhile, a different department is working tirelessly in a dark room: Support Team: "We have hundreds of complaints, sir. Players are frustrated." GGG Upper Management: "Perfect. Buff Archnemesis again." And so, the cycle continues. GGG knows the game feels like a treadmill made of broken glass, but they can't stop. At this point, it's tradition. Every league must have: ✔️ Nerfs to something that wasn't broken ✔️ Buffs to the one mechanic nobody asked for ✔️ At least one league that nobody understands for the first three weeks ✔️ An Atlas system that feels less like conquering a world and more like assembling IKEA furniture without instructions But I get it. GGG is sitting there, staring at this post, thinking: "Damn. They're right. But what if instead of fixing it... we added more layers of RNG?" And that, my friends, is why Path of Exile 2 is being born. Last edited by Twelten#1961 on Mar 5, 2025, 11:39:41 PM

" Yep. Said about that that 3 months ago. Endgame in meaningless at the moment. Unless you are an RealMoney trader and Bot-runner. Grinding for gear, killing ubers and getting lvl 100 are valid endgame goals ofc. But they are 25 years old (!) and offer nothing new to an ARPG player. I get bored with this in less than 3 days if I'm offered to pursue this. |

" "The Great POE2 Cycle" 1. Early Access: "This game is AMAZING!" 2. Mid-Game: "Wow, this is really fun!" 3. Endgame: "What the hell is this garbage?" GGG watching the feedback shift from "Masterpiece!" to "Uninstalling." in real time: 😬 They had us in the first half, not gonna lie. |

Most POE players are 100% endgame focused. None of us care about quests. most of us have played POE1 for upwards of a half decade and we don't know a single word of the story (it's an ARPG, get story out of my game, i'm here to smash exclusively)
In an ARPG I want to run, and kill shit. I would prefer this game not even HAVE a story, or to be able to skip the story 100% entirely (something we have wanted in POE 1 for over a decade now) The only part of the game that matters to us is the endgame -- the story doesn't do anything, it's not even the game. Mapping is. BUt mapping is worse and more tedious and poorly executed than ever. |
