Let’s make money with PETS.
Currently, PETS are purely cosmetic, without any functionality. Let’s add a feature to PETS so they can collect small items from the ground. Small items include orbs, gold, fragments, essences, etc.—anything that takes up a 1x1 space in the inventory. Each PET will have a tab similar to the Stash, 3x3 in size. Just like in the Stash, you’ll mark which item you want it to collect from the ground. You open the PET’s tab, mark Orbs, and it will start picking up Orbs. If the PET’s inventory is full, the collected item will automatically be transferred to the character’s inventory. If both inventories are full, the PET will be highlighted with a glow and an icon indicating it's full will appear on the player’s screen. How to make money from this? Create an NPC called Charles – Pet Master. At the end of Act 3, the player receives a basic, random PET. At the end of Cruel Act 3, the player receives an orb to train one PET. You go to the Pet Master NPC and bind the Orb to a PET of your choice (if you have more than one PET). Only trained PETs will be able to collect items from the ground; untrained PETs will remain cosmetic only. During the campaign, you receive only one training Orb. Additional Orbs must be purchased from the Store in order to train more than one PET. Just like premium stash tabs, training Orbs will be sold in the Store, and once an Orb has been used to train a PET, you must buy another if you want to train an additional PET. This won’t be Pay to Win, since any player can still collect their items manually from the ground, and they will still receive one PET and one training Orb by completing the campaign. Replaying the campaign with another character does not grant another Orb—only one Orb is awarded per league. The Pet Master will be named Charles in my honor for coming up with this great idea.
