How to find anything of use in this game
I am currently level 89 running tier 16 maps with 120 rarity on my character and i have not found a greater jewelers orb yet or a single divine orb. In fact I have only found one item of actual use this entire league so far in the end game. I am tired of scraping by on exalts. Any pointers for currency?

You wont find anything big until you buff your maps, sync it with your Atlas and Scarabs or Fragments.
If you wanna get rich without luck or grind: Trade. Im bad at math.

I'm 475 map bosses in, and I've barely started my first red maps (t11). I'm level 92 on a character that was originally only meant to hit 80 to unlock some skins. She's sitting on 6 ex, 6 divines, 300 something chaos in an SSF Idols league. Probably could have hit 24 challenges if I actually had started a bit sooner, or at least had another character slot.
One thing I had to learn in my first few leagues is there is a lot more value in the lower tier maps than people often give credit. For the longest time, I felt I needed to alch and chisel - which could lead to bad\painful\risky mods and re-rolling the mods using chaos would lead to a loss or at least severely hamper gains. Using transmutes to magic and alterations to adjust any mods means I'm investing very little per map, tho alch\chisel\roll as needed would be the eventual plan at t16. Now, if I had started sooner in a trade league, my character would be stronger than her current ssf version, but its also been kinda nice to see I'm still able to develop an atlas from scratch, tho the idols boosting map drops is seemingly helping to make that less painful. So, essentially what I'm saying is that you can often find the currency you need to upgrade in the easier lower tiers withing investing too much per map and relying on volume. The higher tier maps often are more spotty with its drops and needs a lot more investment, especially when sustaining maps is usually involved. Yep, totally over league play.

I just did a blue chiseled t10 underground sea - 2 divines, a diviner's box, a tainted jewelers, a tainted chrome.
Now while that's definitely not normal, I just really wanted to emphasize how often its more sheer volume when "battling the rng gods". The lack of tainted stuff is mainly from me avoiding activating beyond content through idols, and a lot of that is from bad prior experiences where bosses would show up in maps with already painful mods. Now don't get me wrong, a lot of the nicer things are level\tier locked and my main characters in practically only run t16. But it also hurts a lot less to spend almost nothing to find something nice versus spending a decent amount and finding nothing memorable in return. Yep, totally over league play.

" I figured that might be the case even though this is specifically the Poe 1 Gameplay\discussion forum. As for 2, they went in a direction where scarcity is the norm and fights are long winded. While I do think they needed to slow things down beyond spamming skill across the screen, you still need to at least "feel" rewarded for successful completions of said fights, and from the feedback I have seen, that has not really been the case. Yep, totally over league play.
