POB damage calculation help
need a bit of help as a newbie, sorry if this is a wrong place to ask this.
my question is: when i open my static strike skill in a character tab, at the top it says that DPS is 864, when i import my character to path of building program (including skills and items, as is), i select the same skill as a main one, and it says average damage is 211. hit dps is 288. that is much lower than in-game numbers, why? how i am supposed to compare what damage output is higher, am i doing something wrong in pob maybe? Hi. This is the correct place for this question.
Most likely it is to do with the configurations setting. A possible reason is the POB is calculating based off you being at a higher level or facing more difficult enemies with higher defenses. Im looking at your current POB for lvl 46 and it says Static strike Hit dps 2066.3. So if you have a different number, it is likely from different setting. At the top of POB, there is a box about character level. See if it is showing 46. It might be showing 100 or some other number. If you click the +- buttons you will see your DPS alters, even though your character is not changing, because there are variables related to this number in the DPS calculation. Another thing to check is the configuration tab. In particular, under Enemy stats, "Is the enemy a boss?". Set it to "No". Those other settings are for fighting higher level content that have more defenses, so will show you with less damage. You might also notice that number I am getting is higher than what it is showing you on the in game tool tip. That is because POB takes into account a number of factors that tool tip doesn't. For example, your conductivity curse. This is a reason why people use the POB, because it is able to give a more complete estimate of the damage numbers. Yeah close enough. The discrepancy could be something on my settings or some character changes between the POB's.
I think that field might be on by default for people building endgame character. |
