Has anyone actually looked at the odds for crafting?

Christ... PoE 1 had some bad odds but at least there was slight determinism in those odds, you could influence it and eventually guarantee an outcome....

this is just insane 0.o

I'm actually at a loss for words at how bad you've implemented crafting... it's like you "want" scarcity, my honest perspective is that since tencent took over you're forcing this scarcity? I wonder why -_-

It's insane, yes.

Just a simple example:

If you have a weapon with "#% increased Physical Damage" and want to try to get another "Physical" prefix, like "flat Phys" or "flat Phys Accuracy", you could craft on the weapon "Prefixes Cannot Be Changed", thus protecting the mod you already got.
Then you use "Harvest" and "Reforge Phys".
Your first mod stays and you narrow down the pool of prefixes that can appear on the weapon the all mods with a "Physical Tag".
That could mean you hit "Phys life/mana Leech" OR the "flat Phys" or "flat Phys Accuracy".

And that's not even broken or something because mod tiers exist and you could get a low-tier mod.

In PoE2, you have your "#% Physical Damage" and... slam an exalt that can apply every single prefix of any tier possible.
Or you throw a chaos orb on it and pray it does something useful... but pure RNG again.

It's designed worse than a mobile slot machine game, at least there you can pay to increase the odds or even get a guarantee. This whole orb rolling but drop no orbs to roll with makes me despise poe2. There is no insult I can return back which would have as much weight as this design atrocity.
I was looking at the odds on amulet crafting, say I fracture +spirit, then I want crit chance + crit damage bonus, that's roughly a 1 in 1800 chance of happening... xD you could spend literally 2000 chaos and hit nothing, or get insanely lucky.

The majority of the time it's almost impossible to get 3 prefixes or suffixes, let a lone hitting both your prefixes and 1 suffix.

I made yesterday TIER 0 MIRROR WORTH weapon using the recombinator.
I am missing 2 damage on it. From the highest possible roll.

This is the most broken system ever.
its not just crafting, they are hard programming scarcity into the game. its everywhere.

Depends how competent you are in math.

If you are clueless how to calculate stuff, sure - it looks like black magic and luck for you. But so is the case for POE 1 crafting.

I will simplify it so you get the point:

1. You check which mods are more likely to roll, and which are more rare:

2. You get the required rare mods.
- Trade site for the rarest mods like +7 to skills.
- Essence on bases for gambling defensive mods like chaos resistance.
- Exotic coins reroll.

All of those are practically free. With some exceptions, you should be able to find the mods for 1 exalt.

3. You recombine 2 to 3 mods, and finish with purple omens.

In Patch 0.1.0, such items were sold for hundreds of divines.
You can get them for 10-20 divs in 0.2.0.

But why waste time to think, when you can complain how bad everything is?
