Lessons learned, lessons forgotten - a key point

I just want to say - you have ~13 years of PoE 1 behind you, and most of the issues I right now have with PoE 2 were already solved in PoE 1, some of them pretty recently, I have one great example and one friction point:

Scenario:
Running waystones is unrewarding unless the waystone has rarity, and unless you boost it further with waystone mod passive and precursor tablets.
Problem(s)
1. It is way too easy to brick waystones with no chance to fix them other than 3:1 reforge
2. It is impossible to use currency exchange for precursor tablets because they have implicit ranges, ilvl and affixes
3. Most people don't realize running waystones without quantity/rarity is pointless/(less/un)rewarding
4. Quantity/Rarity/Pack size are no longer implicit to waystones and don't scale with the number and tier of affixes
Solutions:
1. Orb of Scouring / Orb of Alteration
2. Scarabs or a similar system, non-scalable, non-random modifiers so it can be traded through currency exchange!!!
3. and 4. can be solved with implicit rarity, quantity and/or pack size. Having prefixes = reward and suffixes = risk is a nice system, but overall rarity/quantity being 1 of 30 mods that can roll is bad. Keep the useless stuff (more chests, random mobs etc) but move IIQ/IIR/Pack Size to implicits

All of this was and is already solved in PoE 1, settlers and the currency exchange making it way more accessible, way less painful to juice maps because you don't have to website/TFT trade for the juice and deal with whispering 10-50 people before someone responds to your trade request for a fucking tablet. You had all the answers and you fixed most of the pain with juicing and runinng maps in 3.25, why not apply it to PoE 2? Why do you think you need to reinvent the wheel with everything.

You should be able to reforge lev15 waystones, if the have a mod like temporal chains it´s a brick and gets dumped, i get that shit on 6 out of 10 waystones ffs
Mate, this game has the "vision", poe1 didn't had the "vision"
Or simply removed these affixes from the game. Then GGG will have to address the problem head on rather watching the players rely on gimmicks.

Because the previous wheel had Chris Wilson in it, this one doesn't. And seems like the new driver doesn't like Chris Wilson's involvement in it.
The idea must have been to make PoE2 so different from PoE1 that they would both exist as fully separate experiences and therefore separate revenue streams?

Let them reinvent wheel all over again. At all costs poe2 must be different.

Fair, but I'm pretty sure the scarab rework in 3.25 and the currency exchange was done after Chris was no longer in a leadership role.
Also that is a bad faith argument. I don't know the full history, but they co-founded the company together (Chris & Jonathan). I have a conspiracy theory of why Chris has stepped away and it has some to do with the direction PoE 2 took, but I won't be getting into it in this thread.

The endgame is already different enough, And I understand wanting to differentiate, but why re-introduce problems they solved in the original game? Name it something else, make it works slightly different for what I care but don't throw away the best QoL in the history of PoE - and I think it was Mark himself admitting that they made Currency Exchange so soon and in PoE 1 because he experienced what is is to trade for scarabs, sextants and currency and he hated it that 19 out of the 20 people he whispered to trade didn't respond.

Same as above. Different should not mean worse.

POE 1 was Chrisovision.

POE 2 is Jonfailvision.

100% agree. These problems were solved and shouldn't exist now. But I'm sure someone will come into your thread and say they like the existing system and that you should go play POE1 since you like it better.
