This game has beautiful graphics and I never get to actually enjoy them. (Delirium fog rant)
Is the punishment for fully juicing a waystone...not being able to enjoy the game's amazing graphics as well as making my GPU work 3x as hard to produce less enjoyable visuals?

Bro, 100% agree. Accidentally forgot to put oils on and wondered how Hidden grotto is cool.

I really wish I didn't feel so heavily incentivized to use distilled emotions on waystones because I enjoy playing the game so much more without them, but I'd be missing out on a fairly large bonus in loot quality/quantity if I didn't. It genuinely makes me sad to be stuck in this dilemma of having to choose between trying to get better loot, and actually being able to enjoy the game's graphics.

" This right here. If you are playing the game "correctly" then it's desaturated city. Like I get the idea that it's supposed to look that way but it just feels bad. |

I logged in just now to make a post about this issue, good to see it's not only my viewpoint.
I've leveled from 90-95 doing only instilled maps. Those bonuses are so huge that not doing them is a mistake. And it's not only the bonuses, but also additional density, rares and those two uniques that spawn very frequently. After a certain point the player should be running only those instilled maps, and being "delirious" from start to finish becomes the standard, so it's not just a "temporary thing" like with the normal delirium that goes away. Yet this system makes the game feel TERRIBLE! Why is it that the peak mapping experience makes all the maps look exactly the same? It's super boring and irritating on the psyche. I get that the fog is "necessary" couse delirium is supposed to make things harder by making ground effects less visible... however why make everything black'n'white? There are many options to make things harder without stripping the game from its visual appeal. I wish the devs were more creative with that. Like, those destilled emotions are colorful themselves. Why not at least tint the color of the map with the color of the emotion used? Delirium could be a fun psychedelic experience, adding flavor to the maps. As it is now it's removing all the flavor and diversity. And also, I'd love it if all those grumpy noises were moved to the "ambience" channel so I can squelch them. They're fun for the first 15 min. However if every single map I do has those noises start-to-finish it's really tiring. |

Agreed 100%. There's really nothing else to say. It doesn't take long in game to realise that the visuals drown out all sense of enjoyment when you cant see anything at all.
They should take a page out of Maplestory. If that game did everything wrong but one thing, it was the ability to customise effect transparency. GGG - Why you no?

Agreed. Also, my character dies FAR more often because of the GPU burden. Sometimes, no enemies, spells, attacks or anything are on the screen, especially when first entering a waystone. Please, fix. LOVING THE GAME!

It's nice to see that some people share my sentiment. I love this game too and I genuinely hope that the devs consider making some adjustments to the delirium fog's visual impact on the game. I yearn to be able to enjoy maxing out my waystones without straining both my eyes and my GPU for no apparent reason.
