Unique drops are not exciting unless my build uses the one out of hundreds

In the latest patch update GGG implies that uniques should be an exciting moment when they drop?

Why is that? 99% of uniques that drop are useless for my build therefore they are just scrap material, why would you think uniques can be exciting when builds can only use a handful at best?

Look at it this way . Most PoE2 buffs are like horoscope prognosis. They won't happen to everyone. For an example , in last update they buffed higher tier drops that affected everyone , but buffed Unique drop rates affect only some people.

Its RNG , a lot of players , some are bound to have good rng and some are bound to have no RNG whatsoever.

A certain degree of RNG is good and important in ARPGs but in POE2 practicaly everything is RNG based and this is a problem.

Even crafting is very RNG based, this leads to frustration if you play 100s of hours and don't get any upgrades for your character.

In Diablo 2 f.e. (the inspiration for POE2) you have many items that suits to all buiilds in the game (+1 to all skill items) + Runewords to craft own gear for the build + ofc some cube crafting recipes that are RNG but not as much as in POE2.

Means even with rly bad RNG you have progress at the end of the day in some way...the game simply respects your time.

POE2 in it's current form is a 100% RNG slot machine with very low odds to win.

This season I've played some kind of SSF (only used the currency market to change DIvs for Exalts to gamble my gear)....I've surely gambled over 10.000 white bases, picked up all rares and even blues and not 1 item where I would say it's more than OK.

POE2 feels more like Warframe atm than a lootbased ARPG becasue the best way to upgrade your char is to make a zoom build and bulk farm currency to trade it for good items on poe trade and completely ignore most items on the floor....And that doesen't feel great in a game that wants to be "slow & meaningful".

This limits the build diversity to a handfull of builds who have screenwide clear (LS f.e.), othervise you have to play this game as a job to have success.

Totally agree. Played 200h+ and I have still not gotten any drop that have excited me or enhanced my builds. Gotten all I need from trade.

Does not feel good.
