Hybrid builds / stun feedback.
I understand its important to add some form of difficulty or friction in combat. I get it, that is important.
The issues I run into is where design perspectives meet end goals. If maximum *LIFE* (big key word) is the deciding factor while not giving much of any maximum life nodes on the tree, this converts directly into stun threshold. In POE1 - get more life - you get defenses AND you stop getting stunned. In POE2 - get stun threshold - you get tons of affixes across your tree and gear occupied with 0 increases in defenses (aside from not getting annoyed regularly) So when it comes to my main and what I've been playing 2 leagues now mostly. Chayula monk + mini stuns. Ravenous Doubts and Consuming Questions is a HUGE risk with CI and pretty annoying considering you have no Recharge. So that forces you into a hybrid build. That also doesn't always start fights with full ES. So you didn't leech to full ES, so now you have this gamble window... will I get hit while I dive in to attack and get stunned and die or will my attack land and I leech ES and everything is fine. A build that doesn't have enough Life to stop a mini stun and doesn't have enough ES (without massive investment / leeched to full in the last fight) is quite literally in a situation where they do not have solutions. You cannot take a million points in Stun Threshold is based on Energy Shield (energy shield is low and wont recover) or any amount of Stun Threshold on gear + tree that would allow someone with 2k HP to not get stunned. So then the other option would be run high life and an ES buffer... with few options for armour or block or... yeah... I'm just saying if there is points that force you into hybridization that makes a specific game mechanic incredibly difficult to deal with, a solution to that issue needs to be present somewhere. (that isn't just get div, buy better gear) Last bumped on May 27, 2025, 3:43:29 PM

This doesn't even mention the fact that ground effects post combat cause you to be low on ES pretty consistently.
