Did "Increased Rarity of Items Found" Hurt This Game?
Am I right that some players can stack "600%+ Increased Rarity of Items Found", so GGG reduced the currency drop rate for all players to prevent the economic system from collapsing?
Should GGG just delete "Increased Rarity of Items Found" from this game, so they can control the drop rate of currency easily, then the economic system? Last edited by InterfaceBoy#4817 on May 28, 2025, 7:45:19 AM Last bumped on May 28, 2025, 1:26:06 PM

You can ignore this thing (Increased Rarity)
this is cosmetic crap on items. |

+% IIR looks so nice on paper, as an interesting stat to squeeze in to get more loot by balancing this vs power. I like the idea.
However, in reality of PoE 2 I really hate this, because PoE 2 isn't balanced well enough. Strong players don't really compromise their power, they just manage to stack +% IIR on top of their screen-clearing builds. This in the end creates the factor of "wealthy will get wealthier" while casual players with off-meta builds who simply have to prioritize power on gear won't find that much more loot they desperately need to upgrade their builds. If +% IIR would affect only ITEMS and not CURRENCY, then perhaps this would be a bit more reasonable. Also +% IIR should have a direct downside linked to it. Like -% DMG. I dislike the stat. I dislike the "rarity bot" playstyle it encourages (were players stack hundreds of % of increased rarity and let themselves be carries by the group). I dislike that it feels mandatory to get to gain better loot. I see there no implementation were I like it: either the loot gets significantly better with this stat, then you want it or it is basically useless (not improving your loot) and then its just a bad stat on your items. There is no meaningful choice picking it up either, you just want it, because its a good stat.
Limiting it to 100% increased rarity from gear making an impact and any more is more or less valueless would make it easier to access and level normal players and super farmers loot experiences. I find the best solution would be a rarity system that scales exclusively with content difficulty: you can either speed clear maps and get more loot (you get the good items, by simply having 5x or so more chances to be lucky with item rolls) or slower clear hard content (that is actually hard on strongest builds, which also means that current meta builds need to be brought in line with weaker builds and endgame needs to be rebalanced to pose an actual challenge) to get less, but significantly better loot. |

this stat should only appear on waystone. big brain to add it to the item mods pool. huge brain tbh.
and the drops quantity for party, massive brain. |

" Is this supposed to say that players have left the league because the price ratio between exalts and divines has grown? GGG should probably remove those gloves that let parties turn one of their players into an IIR aura bot. They should also tie IIR to difficulty. | |
IIR shouldn't exist on items - IIR should tie to difficulty and waystones only.
This is how you get players to stay, because as they get more powerful there's more potential for item/currency drops that you want/need. Sacrificing power for IIR is not the way if you want smooth progression in your game (hard-stuck cause no item drop vs hard-stuck cause you put on IIR gear ---until you get multi-div items feels very bad). |
