Similar to many other installments, 3.26 appears to just be a copy of old ideas...further offering evidence that GGG is simply "out" of novel ideas.

League Mechanic: bastardized and randomized Rogue Exiles from 2013.
Atlas Mechanic: memories in the Atlas? Those have existed for years.

What should be and have historically been simple patch balance changes are now being called a new "league" and new "expansion". There are shiny new toys (and I WILL have fun) but the "ideas" are nothing.


And the fact that your Merc doesn't GROW with you, nor is it customizable?! What a freaking letdown. Even D2 had a customizable and growing merc lol.

To be fair, the Mercs ARE customizable.

I don't know if that's a good thing though, because it means every single person is going to run the exact same Leer Cast + Kingmaker + "Guy Who Uses Vigilant Strike" setup, just like how in D2 everyone* ran the same Holy Freeze + Infinity merc setup.

must have missed this, sorry. I saw the GGG comment that they don't level or grow and you need to replace them constantly. I thought the items on them were stuck, because you had to CHOOSE whether to get one of their items or get the merc.

But considering they are randomly generated.....99.9% of them are going to be a total joke. When our super-buffed minions die in regular content, I hold very little hope for procedurally generated un-buffed minions lol.
