Detonate Dead & destroyed enemies

I saw some builds that use Cremator (Ignited Enemies Killed by your Hits are destroyed)
combined with detonate dead.

Doesnt that decrease the effectivness of detonate dead?
Im bad at math.

No it doesnt.

You dont want to detonate random monsters but instead the corspes of high HP monsters which you added to your desecrate pool beforehand, so each time you cast desecrate at least one of those corpses will spawn and then you explode that one.

The difference ranges from 80% HP for basic skellies to 700-800% HP for really beefy monsters, which is why you want to Spectre them.
Having said that, some patches ago spectre life was capped at 360% or something like that and next league DD of Chainreaction is going to get nerfed significantly, so the topend dmg potential for DD is nowhere near where it used to be.

You can still play the traditional DD if you want to but that one hasnt been good since the aforementioned nerf/cap to spectre HP.

tl;dr:
GGG may or may not have finally managed to kill DD.
Only took them an eternity ^^
Also: Bad timing to get into this skill.
Bad timing is my thing.
But its only a 2 link support for Cast on Stun Firestorm anway.
So it doesnt hurt for lack of better alternatives.

I also run Detonate dead of Scavenging so they all explode at once.
Its not too bad for Ultimatum.
Im bad at math.
Yeah the corpse life scaling part of any corpse skills (VD/DD and their transfigured variants) got heavily nerfed.

Spectres from your bank (including the high HP variants) can't be detonated anymore and the corpse scaling part has to use the average value (which is usually low) of the corpse life in any maps.

These Spectral Corpses (the translucent glowing ones after you desecrate) are now unusable for most purposes, and can only be used by Minion Skills such as Raise Spectre or Bone Offering

Guess it's still viable if mainly scaling it like other spells with added damage and using the (nerfed) corpse life part as an added bonus.
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
