Do you think Warcries should Exert Travel skills by default?
As far as I know, most people agree that warcries should not exert travel skills by default, and the mastery which says "Warcries cannot Exert Travel skills" should say "Warcries can Exert Travel skills".
This is one of the rare purely mechanical masteries which does not change anything numerically, but you have to allocate it to make your build work. For me it feels like I'm spending a mastery on something that should already be the case. I asked Ben, Carn, and tytykiller, and they agreed. If it were a notable like before, it would be a wasted skill point, but since it's a mastery it's even worse, because if you want another Warcry mastery, you have to spec into another Warcry cluster. With the addition of Runegrafts, every mastery counts. Warcries were changed in 3.11 Harvest league when the Exert mechanic was added. If I remember correctly, GGG forgot that travel skills would also be exerted, so before the league started they added a notable which said "Warcries cannot Exert Travel skills", and most people said it should be the other way around. In 3.16 Scourge league the Mastery system was added to the passive skill tree, and this notable was changed to a mastery which said "Exerted Attacks deal 25% increased Damage, Warcries cannot Exert Travel Skills", so at least we had 25% increased damage. In 3.21 Crucible league the damage bonus was removed, and this mastery was changed to "Warcries cannot Exert Travel Skills". We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are. I agree, its there just to inconvenience you. There is no other apparent reason.
I will say that self chill berserker exerting leap slam with echoes with autoexert is ok for stuff like heist for speed but in normal average content it just makes no sense. |
