Crash on startup today, worked fine yesterday
Nothing changed on my end. When I open the game I get a black screen for 1 sec then the window closes.
I thought an update was the cause of this, so I tried modifying the game config file : changed the renderer to Vulkan, Dirext11/12, vsync, texture quality etc. Nothing worked. Anyone else experiencing this ? I'm open to any suggestion from anyone, I'm really bummed out I can't play this weekend. Ideally would be a GGG fix but doutful they'll notice my nothing burger post. Update : I tried installing it on Steam and it seems to work fine. It's my standalone client that's crashing.
I play on the standalone client for more than 12 years now, briefly played on Steam for a while few years ago. I'd rather stay on the Standalone is at all possible... Hopefully knowing that it narrows down the issue ? |

Have you tried running PackCheck.exe in your game's install folder?
It's the standalone client's equivalent of asking Steam to verify the files; it scans the installation looking for signs of data corruption & replacing any files with the wrong hash. Today… by divine decree… your patch of Excel, begins.

Yes I did a PackCheck.exe also and nothing.
After tinkingering for 3h I managed to boot the game by deleting every temporary files I could think of in my profile (shop image, D12 shaders, Vulkan Shaders etc.) Guess what ? today after waking up > update. And yes, I can't boot the game AGAIN. This time no amount of deleting shaders is enough to make it work... GGG please ? |

UPDATE : Apparently I had a software that made the game crash (SpecialK). I'm stupid
