Mac OS standalone, i could play yday - today broken

The new patch today broke it, and i try to fix it the same way as yesterday with allow in security and some times throw in the bin (as it tells me to do) but i get stuck on the loading screen of the game where it tells me that i need to patch it. Well, i just did that.

The change from yday is that the file update.dat is not possible to throw, move or rename, and it is not locked in any visible way on the info tab.
Searchway ...user/username/library/application support/path of exile (folder)

Mac studio M1 max, 32 gb ram, sequoia 15.5

(steam version dont work at all as usual, it tryes to start and closes immediately)

(well, i can play minecraft instead, but i thought u might want the info)

Yep I'm experiencing the same issue. Running on M1 macbook pro 8GB, Sequoia 15.5

I managed to get update.dat file by doing these steps:
1)Download new .dmg file from PoE site
2)Deleted current Poe app from Applications folder and replace it with a new app from the .dmg.
3)Then instead of running it, right click -> show package contents -> then navigate to contents -> MacOS -> and run the Path of Exile executable.
4) After that the update.dat file appeared in my Application Support/Path of Exile folder. I renamed it to update.zip, extracted it and the PoE app was replaced.

It launched succesfully but to no afair, I still get the message that there is a new version of PoE and I must restart the client. Also I noticed that the client doesn't display proper version it just says PoE1 in the bottom right corner

Ironically, they seemed to have fixed the fix. I'm sure someone who understands programming better will come up with a solution but it may take a little while.
The state of the Mac version of PoE right now is honestly disappointing. In my opinion, it feels like it's missing any kind of proper quality assurance. It just doesn’t feel like it gets tested seriously before going live, not even started once.

Crashes, performance issues, and strange bugs seem to be the norm now. It honestly feels like quality assurance has completely fallen off the radar.

Back in the days before PoE2 took over, we didn’t have these kinds of consistent, long-running issues—especially not at this scale. Even during peak league launches when the player base was massive, GGG seemed more focused and responsive. Server problems weren’t nearly this prolonged or disruptive.

It’s frustrating to see this decline, especially when the game used to handle way more traffic and complexity with better results. I get that priorities may have shifted, but that doesn’t change the fact that PoE1 still appears to be the main source of revenue—and likely will remain so for some time.
GGG you fixed this same bug on the first day of league
why it's so long to apply it again :s
I'm not sure they know what the fix is, or are looking at it specifically. I think some patches update fine, and some cause the situation where it thinks you need to patch again after updating.

I'm just hoping there is another patch soon and that solves the issues even if by accident.
I am ingame now, to throw some files and then cancel on the "throw this" to get the msg on security to open anyway, phew, i got it to work today.
