Stop deleting Merc Inventory when we replace them

What if the new merc had an inventory overflow box instead? So if i equip a weapon and amulet on a merc and then hire a new merc it starts with its default gear, but the weapon and amulet i gave old merc is now in the overflow box on the new merc?

Items can only be removed from that box. This way we don't constantly lose items we equip to them

I agree, either this or maybe a lock system for merc so you don't accidentally delete wrong one without first removing their items, some kind of failsafe would be nice, since gear for merc can either be niche and difficult to get or very expensive.
