Controllers are a mess. Some changes made it very awkward.

i've been using controller on pc since i began playing this game. Currently 4000 hours on record. Yet in the this league some stuff changed with controller, which made some things very awkward. Some things are also very hard to find out, since it's barely explained. Here's a list.



-Unable to remove gems from gear in inventory -> only works well when equipped, in inventory it makes weird behaviour after pressing b.
-Clicking type bars is impossible after a while, a bit later it's impossible to enter anything in these bars, having to restart
-After moving to aspirants plaza, directly going back is impossible. You have to step off the waypoint, then you can return. Otherwise error message.
-Not sure if there's any button to open chat window, i have to use keyboard.
-Before i could click the name that responded to a trade to invite. Now i have to first use the keyboard, then use the controller. Which is very awkward.
-There is supposed to be a skill or command to return the merc to your spot. i can't find it on controller. Is it even there?
-Trying to aim at the map device to use it after i finished a map is tough, has to be ver precise, which makes me enter a portal by accident alot.
-Unable to check petal abilities
-After exiting the merc screen, it returns to the merc screen.

Some of these might be question how to do it, like how to use a the skill to recall the merc to your position. Although it straight up doesn't seem to be available.

Keep gear equipped to remove gems easier.

I have been using that method, but it doesn't feel right having to use a workaround like that. I hope they fix this.

Press down on right thumb stick, select one of your abilities, press A (or equivalent) then use right thumb stick to scroll through the list of abilities until you find the one for the merc. You cannot bind this ability from the select menus.

It's really unintuitive and just plain bad, and after experiencing poe 2 with a controller I'm not sure GGG has an excuse for controller support being so terrible.

Indeed, something is really off with controller support in PoE1 atm. I made a list to help them fix it. I hope they look at it. Controller is just so much fun in this game!
