Delirium fog visual worsens combat visibility and feels stale after a while

Eventually in endgame you get to the point where you have a plethora of resources to run delirium instilment on every map, whether by spending emotions or having it drop instilled via the atlas passive. There's no benefit to running a map without delirium fog on it other than making the map easier if your build can't handle delirium. But most people will get their build past that point and be able to run deli fog on every map 24/7.

It was fine for a while, but eventually I really get tired of seeing this fog. It's obtrusive, it makes spider mines glow way harder to see so now I'm missing important telegraphs that warn me of incoming danger. It exacerbates the problem of poor readability / visual clutter in combat. It also just makes the game look gross and less interesting. So much of the lighting, color, vibrance, and atmosphere in the maps is diminished and everything looks gray and stiff. Thematically it's fine once in a while, but when the ENTIRE game is covered in deli fog day in, day out, it really sucks a lot of the aesthetic enjoyment out of it for me.

I don't have a solution, but... on the odd off-ocassion here and there when I run a map with no fog, it feels like I've suddenly pulled off some annoying film that was covering my eyes and I can finally "breathe" and see the game. Like "wow, this game actually does look good, I just forgot and could never tell past all the fog."

On that topic, I have one question. If I am "7% delirious" how come my screen has 50% white fog and my music has 100% changed?
Delirium fog is probably my most profound complaint about the game, for various reasons. Late game players are heavily incentivized to instill maps, which results in constant delirium fog. The game has amazing graphics but they're dulled out by fog 24/7. All the time and effort put into creating a fantastic graphics engine just to have it obscured by a pointless visual effect which also contributes to framerate and general performance issues. Delirium fog adds nothing positive to the game and only negatives.
