Why doesnt Seething Fury work with unarmed builds?
Just wondering. It would help a lot. It doesn't say it doesn't work but pob doesn't register the crit or crit multiplier for it which seems like an oversight.

Well GGG loves their wording, and lack thereof.
It "should" work with unarmed, as it does not say that it won't. PoB aside, have you tested in game? ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.

By default, all unarmed hits are main-hand.
Hollow Palm Technique specifically makes you count as dual wielding, which allows off-hand unarmed hits. This is currently the only way to hit with the off-hand while unarmed. | |
Thanks Mark!

"I'm not sure how? Seething Fury requires a shield. With a shield but without a weapon, normal attacks use main hand unarmed damage, and shiled attacks use off-hand (non-unarmed) damage. Even if the aforementioned rule didn’t exist, you still wouldn’t be able to hold a shield in your main hand while keeping your off-hand empty to benefit from the jewel. |

Rigwalds Curse works. Lots of base crit and I can use a couple skills. I ended up choosing cyclone over sunder.
I also got seven teachings for even more crit. Managed to hit 100% with only a single crit node and the 150% to full life mastery. As for why I didn't get the jewel yet its cause I'm poor lol. In theory a 350 as shield would be a big dmg boost but I cant test it in game to see. I feel like it wont count though. Rigwald does feel more like a loophole weapon more than an actual one. Managed to stack 4m dmg on it with 50k armour. Took a few days of messing around with to figure out a combo that would give me enough dmg to do something without being a glass cannon. Leech is basically the only way I think. Last edited by TheShadowRose#5428 on Jun 24, 2025, 12:59:29 AM

"Aren't you confusing unarmed damage (when you attack without a weapon) and off-hand damage (when you attack with the left hand)? Those crit chance and crit multi bonuses from Seething Fury affect off-hand damage. The jewel is mainly used for shield skills, because they deal purely off-hand damage. "You'd get +5.25% to Off Hand Critical Strike Chance and 140% to Off Hand Critical Strike Multiplier. But since you're using a shield, Cyclone would never deal off-hand damage, only main hand damage. |
