Validating files on startup

Hey there,
I recently had this problem with poe where I started the game and it said that there was a new "patch" (there wasn't) and when I quit the game and tried starting it again on steam it would start validating files. It does that on every startup after this happens. I am able to play when it finishes, but the validating takes 10 minutes. Now previously I managed to stop this by reinstalling to a different drive and putting it back, but this takes an hour to do and is super impractical. It was fine for about 2 weeks but now it started doing it again. Is there any fix for this problem? Edit: It's gone again. The problem dissapeared after reïnstalling. This is very much rng though. I've had times where this works and where it doesn't. New theory however. When it does happen and you continue to click on login until it lets you in, once you want to exit the game you have to first press "exit to log in screen". When I do this steam doesn't validate the files anymore. My best guess is that the "patch" notification sets a flag on steam for an update that doesn't exist and then steam tries to "update" the game and as a fallback starts validating the game. " Same here, it is the fourth time today. After the last patch (14/07/25) when I press log in button, a message appears saying that there is a patch to download… but it seems stuck in a loop. Once today I've been able to log in, but after logging out the “bug” it is returned again… |

I would love to learn how to fix it. Same issue, each startup is a brand new "validation".
