Can we please rethink the 4 month rotations?

I've not played in over a month. The game was incredibly boring about at that point when I was just mowing over everything effortlessly, and I didn't even play much this season. Can we please think about 60 day seasons instead of 120? I mean you can log in right now...who's still even playing? There's almost nobody on.

Managing two separate games is something new for the development team. Couple that with one of those games not being finished and having to create it all has definitely slowed things down.

We'll have a better picture of what's to come once 0.3 drops, but I think they are just now starting to get their footing and once the campaign is complete, that's when things will start to get much better.

0.3 is their first introduction to new players (that never played POE 1), how they handle a seasonal mechanic. Rather than a separate storyline/areas, it is persistent throughout every existing area you explore in the game, and once the rest of the endgame is released, this will add a considerable amount of play time to the game (with the ability of layering the seasonal mechanic on top of of existing mechanics to create a more customizable experience).

Players are, however, consuming game content faster than ever. So no matter what happens, 4 months (or even 3 months) for any player that is playing ONLY POE 2 will eventually get to this point. It'll just take longer with how season are handled. The 4 month timeline is just a realistic number the devs can put out content for two games without (hopefully) sacrificing the quality of the seasonal additions.
I'm not a speed level kind of person in any game I've played.

I did all I was going to do on my main. Farming the tower map etc is something that's only entertaining for so long. Also did all the build experimentation I'm going to do this phase. Not sure when I last played... has to have been at least a month ago.

Beyond the fact I had a lot of things I found along the way for alts. After the first 2 or 3 weeks there isn't much attractive to a "new player". Nor is the last 2 months going to bring anyone in because numbers start dropping and market is out of whack all the way down to the lower tiers by then.

Four months is definitely too long (seems stupid to even be able to say yet it is). Sadly I think even 3 months is too long.

Same thing can be said about almost all of these Seasonal Games. Some do other things better (less need to buy gear etc as opposed to just playing). I like to "play" POE2 the most.. but I have to skip between a few games as they do their seasons. Or I just don't play at all for a few months (have done this too).
I think it's a huge mistake that they let the same team work on both games, essentially letting one of the games to rot for 2+ months with each cycle.

If a season is 4 months there need to be mid league events and content drops to keep it alive for at least 3 months. Expecting people to hop between the two games is not a solution because many players don't care for one of them.
Agreed, for players that only play 1 game, there should be an interesting mid league event or so to continue the league momentum.

Not event that refreshes the economy but something added as content like special boss event for special loot or rotates an uber version of the many map bos for target specific reward kinda thing. Or maybe free cosmetic reward

I very rarely rotates between poe 1 and 2.
It should be 13 weeks (91 days). Mid-leage of either of games starts the other one. I think that's cool, considering I do not even intend to play PoE 1 anymore. 2 is better for me and having in mind I only play HC SSF that is somewhat enough time to push 4-5 builds to the limits. Maybe more, if lucky.
HC SSF. What else? Ruthless when?
They have already rethought. There are 147 days between 0.2 and 0.3 🙌
if you have time, ssf feels good and you can reset your progress when you want.

We need something new to keep this game alive in the middle of the league. Although I imagine it's difficult now while the game is still in development.
