POE1 needs a revamped gem and skill system

One of the reasons I believe you made POE2 is that there is a general dissatisfaction with skill gems.

While the system in 2 may not work for this game, early game gem pressure feels bad. At least make the vendors have any of the 3 color gloves or something in act 1.

Not equipping upgrades because it doesn't have the right socket colors feels ;like an obvious game flaw, especially when corrupted items are significantly harder to recolor, and a lot of items dropped corrupted anyway.

Also the way to recolor them on the crafting bench feels like it was accidentally allowed to exist in the game. Going up and down sockets until you get what you want is such a lame brute force way, but it is realistically the only way to get 6 blue sockets on offstat armor, and on that note why have armor have stat preferences anyway if most skills can be used by any character.

Use a league or two to actually make a better system.

if they allowed me to have poe2's gem SOCKETING system in poe1 i ll be so happy. the rest can follow poe1 where gems need to be leveled etc.

as well as "6linking". its actually easier to get a 6link in poe1 than 2 right now and i dont like that its like that.

tldr of what i want:

1. separate gui to socket gems (gems dont need to be socketed into items)
2. all sockets are white
3. extra sockets can be gotten from fusing spam or a crafting bench recipe (no bullshit perfect ultra giga chad jeweller curreny)
