Help with first hardcore character

Hi all,

Recently Ive been completing all the achievements in game and at this point the only I have left are the hardcore ones. I never touched hardcore because Im a pretty terrible player regardless of the 1000hrs spent. Ive been following a boneshatter guide and by some miracle I was able to get to lvl 83 on my very first hardcore character. The only achievement I have left in game is to get lvl 90.

Dipping my toes deeper into yellow maps ive had a few scary moments and I wanted to reach out to see if I could get some feedback on how to make myself feel safer and get to lvl 90 without worry.

This has all been SSF because the trade on hardcore standard is nonexistent. buying upgrades from people is probably not likely and I dont have any resources anyway.

there are many defensive layers and they range from easy to very difficult to manage in ssf

rings generally need to be amethyst bases - you need to cap chaos res

you need t2/t1 life rolls on almost all pieces

you need to use top tier bases

9. Replace accuracy craft with fire and chaos res craft

10. Find an appropriate 6 socket base chest or weapon (not a karui chopper) to 5L to use now for upgrades later. If you get a hybrid chest base, go Iron Reflexes.

11. Spec into the fortify wheel so that all melee attacks fortify.

12. Take the advice from the first reply in this thread so that you can eventually upgrade all your gear. The majority of improvements at this stage of progression is from gear.

13. Get more levels and gear upgrades before Uber lab so that its extra easy. You don't need Uber lab at all for now or quite awhile imo.
