Tower Rework Idea

This is my idea for how I think towers could work in the future. Not a game dev or anything like that, just thought it was a cool idea and wanted to share.


Towers still exist in their current quantity and density. They also still reveal areas when completed.

You now gain Atlas XP when completing a tower. You can allocate this xp in the specific bonuses you want to apply to the ENTIRE Atlas. No more feeling bad about a map that isn't juiced from tower overlaps. However you can only have so many bonuses active at one time, and the higher tier ones are weighted appropriately. These bonuses would look like:

Atlas Points: 0/100pts

Greedy Goblin: X% more gold drops in maps- 5pts
Pit Fighter: X amount of more packs in maps- 10 pts
Coin Collector: Increased chance for higher tier currency to drop- 25pts
Loot Hoard: Increased chance for unique drops- 25 pts
Stayin’ Alive: Your first death on a map incurs no penalties- 35pts
Breaching Protocol: Maps have breach- 5pts
Delirious: Maps have Delirium- 5pts
Boss Man: Maps have Bosses- 5pts
Etc.
You get the point…

So you can pick and choose what you’re chasing for rewards and avoid any “bad maps”. You’d be able to swap out these bonuses as needed. There could be specific tasks that must be completed to unlock these bonuses too. Like collect X amount of gold to unlock Greedy Goblin perk. Waystones would still work as they do in the new update.

Towers would also drop their own unique currency that lets you overload the amount of atlas points you can have active so a specific map. So if there’s a map that’s really juice you can overload it to use 0/200pts for that specific map that you use the item on.
