Mortar Cannon

So I'm planning out some builds and was just wondering if the mortar cannon will consume heat from the redesigned rapid shot...

I can't imagine it will. The heat is attached to your crossbow; Mortar Cannon is a separate entity. It'd be like if your various totems consumed your charges or Combo or other built-up resources. You have that resource, not your totem/cannon/ballista.
