Ideal # of merchant tabs?

I'm just trying to gauge what the consensus is on merchant tabs. I own 3 quad tabs, so I'm thinking of converting some. How many merchant tabs do I need? I play SSF sometimes, so I'd ideally like to keep some quad tabs for that. I wish merchant tabs would become extra stash tabs when playing SSF. (I don't think that's the way it works, but I could be wrong.) Now it feels like I'm forced to choose Trade or SSF, or pay more money.

I'm posting this to get answers, not make complaints. I'm glad GGG is trying out a new trading system.

I'll be converting exactly 1 tab for the simple reason I don't sell much.

I only sell big ticket items like t0 uniques or pinnacle fragments. I've always used just 1 normal size tab and rarely had any overflow.

Not outrightly confirmed, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Quads are visually divisive. They are the one UI element in the game that falls outside of the typical design framework, which is fine for those who have decent vision and/or large monitors, but a no-go for many others. So I'm not sure GGG would want to force them on travelling tradesmen. I feel like it's something GGG would be conscientious about.

I think the best compromise would be to convert quads into 4 separate market tabs, with a clear warning that the transformation is permanent.

Probably just going to convert 1 and see how that goes. Maybe if I'm feeling like carting crap around for the early part of league I'll convert a couple. Only was using one premium for public sales in 0.2 and that was enough.

Just bought another quad bundle for storing my personal junk that I keep for experimental builds later. So I actually doubt I'll be using any of the normal premium tabs I have for anything except maybe a folder to hide them.

There is a FAQ. It says:

Once 0.3.0 releases next Friday, you will be able to convert your Premium Stash Tabs purchased before the launch into Merchant’s Tabs from your account settings on the website.

Just to clarify, the option to convert your Premium Stash Tab to a Merchant's Tab will be made available on the Path of Exile 2 website when the 0.3.0 patch is deployed on August 29th (PST).
