Ancestral Boost =/= Empowered?

Under the description of Ancestral Boost, it reads "Ancestral Boosted attacks count as being Empowered"

I have tried some limited experimentation with this, but have not found any benefits or interactions between passives based on Empowered attacks and Boosted attacks. I also realize the language could mean something I am misunderstanding.... "Count as Empowered" might not mean they are Empowered, but has some other effect for purposes for the empowered mechanic?

I really don't understand much of this game, and find it hard to understand what is a bug, and what is my lack of understanding the complexity of the mechanics.

Can someone explain to me what this language means? Thank you for your consideration!

First:

GGG had not separated PoE 1 and 2 forum parts clearly.

So in this forum each post should refer to 1 or 2.

2nd:

Using the wiki helps nearly always for PoE 1.

https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Ancestral_Call_Support

Don't know if a PoE 2 wiki can help you.

3rd:

Ancestral boost is not a search term for PoE 1 wiki.
I don't know where it comes from.

4th:
Empower is a (rare) support gem in PoE 1 but I don't think that's the answer.

If you are from PoE 2 sorry I can't help you.

It means that ancestrally boosted attacks benefit from stats like "Empowered Attacks deal 20% increased Damage", "Life Leeched from Empowered Attacks is Instant", "100% increased Stun Threshold during Empowered Attacks" (because they count as being empowered).
It's a POE2 mechanic.

POE2 wiki is a bit light on information at this stage, but there is still a lot of useful stuff on there.

https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Empowered_skill

Empowered is a property that attacks can have, which allows the attack to benefit from anything that buffs an empowered attack. Warcries can empower attacks and as you are have listed, attacks that are ancestrally boosted also count as empowered. There may be other ways, but those are the main one I know.

So the attack being empowered doesn't necessarily mean any benefit on its own, but if you have anything on your build that buffs empowered attacks, like the ones listed above, they will apply to that attack. You will see some of these are available on the tree. Such as "Bolstering yell" notable. If you search for "empowered" on the tree, it will bring up a bunch of nodes.

It does not need to say both empowered and ancestrally boosted on the mod for it to apply. Ancestrally boosted, means it counts as empowered. I you are unsure if it is applying from the character UI in game, POB is a possible tool that can confirm interactions, for DPS and other things.

In general, while learning the mechanics, it is most likely if something that does not make sense, that it is a user miss-understanding of the mechanic. There are potentially bugs in the games, especially in POE2, since it is early access, but there is often a level of complexity, that requires understanding to know. A good place to start, as you have done, is to ask for advice on the forum in discussion or game play question sections. Then if nobody has an answer, and you believe it is a bug based on your knowledge, flag that it is a possible bug.

I've only started playing early access recently, so a lot of things were likely ironed out, but I have encountered almost no bugs in the campaign. Really the only thing I encountered was leap slam got disabled in an act 4 zone and I can not explain it. Not certain it was a bug, but seemed like it was. I have provided lots of feedback, but it has been all design related, rather than finding bugs. If you think some of the terminology is confusing, or there is insufficient sources of information explaining something, that might be useful to provide to the early access feedback section, rather than reporting as a bug.

There's also a lot of stuff not added to the game yet, as it is in an incomplete state. So certain things may not be completely useful. For example, there is a lot of ways to generate endurance charges, but not that many benefits or skills that use them yet, from what I can see. Until the game is more complete, there will be certain combinations of things that may not work that well together yet.
