[Problem] Abyss hole being terrain obstacle is giving melee skills additional disadvantages.

Abyss placement can be very tricky, especially when they open in tight corridor or corners. The abyss itself stop skills that move along terrains such as Glacial Cascade, Siphoning Strike, Storm Wave, Falling Thunder, Volcanic Fissure and even simply blocking movements, introduce additional challenges for these particular skills and melee builds in general.
While this does make sense logically speaking, it is a disadvantage that got introduced to melee builds that is already in lower power cap and speed. One argument would be they are melee build and they should be in melee range anyway. But that is not necessarily true, if you looking at ES-based Quarterstaff builds for example. I personally play Infernalist Siphoning Strike - Falling Thunder with shock ground boots, build heavily into Evasion / ES and I would very much like to stay out of the actual melee range if possible. Jump in with Siphoning Strike and instantly backflip out then release Falling Thunder payload for both clearing and boss fight, I like the agile playstyle, but the map design paired with the abyss is very much crippling it as of right now. I would love to see mobility improvement around the abyss area and maybe some kind of workaround to help with my Abyss terrain providing (unintentional?) cover for the monsters. Since the Abyss rares often come with teleport, I am very much like to strike first in these situations instead of having to walk to the other side before doing so lest I die to their inescapable pursuit. And even simply walking to the other side can be challenging sometimes when monsters themselves come in horde and either block the way or swarm you. Last bumped on Oct 14, 2025, 6:09:32 AM

I died yesterday because of this, losing one of my T16 one portal juiced maps. I couldn't figure out what was happening, so I tried to dodge roll three times. When my character didn't move, I thought to myself, "I think my connection is gone," and waited about two seconds. It turns out the hole and two other urn obstacles were blocking the way, and I died like a stupid s*.
Can you imagine defeating all the endgame pinnacle bosses with your character in seconds, only to die because of some urns and holes in the ground? Pathetic level design. Neden yaşıyorsun?
