Friend list system is built for stalkers

If I unfriend someone they still have me on their list. There is no block feature. There is no way to keep stalkers from watching my account. When I asked to have myself removed from everyone's list then my account name change GGG said they weren't able to do that.

Yeah I still have people message me that I don't talk to anymore, and I say "who is this" - they are offended, when I message someone for months at a time with no response and they get removed - then out of nowhere they say "hey do you have any free stuff it's end of league".

You can always add them to ignore, just right click on their whisper. This serves the same purpose as a "block list".

And no I don't think changing your account will do anything because the connection of you being added to their friend list still remains, just with a different name.

The ignore function has a very small cap. I have had to /clear_ignore_list to empty it. Once someone friends you and you ignore them it doesn't remove you from their list. They can also add you again once you've cleared your ignore list.

There is no way to escape being stalked in this game other than making a new account.

Yeah, having no granular control over stuff like this is a bummer.

I think this should be a populated list in Account Settings or something, and you can modify it via browser.

Furthermore, I think that removing a friend from the list should also remove your account from their list.

We really could use some QOL on the friends list stuff and giving some of our privacy back.

They don't want to make any changes to the server.
They also don't see stalking as a problem.
They also seem to think the current friend system is easy to manage for traders.

+1 i agree this is a terrible system and I haven't seen anything like this in any other game.

I helped a guy once with an item and then this dude used to message me 50 times a day asking questions or begging for items/currency. I told him politely to leave me alone. Then I did it again but less politely. I ignored him but he made a new account and added me and then started doing the same thing.

I mean obviously not a big deal, you can just ignore them again, but I find it so strange that there's heavy policing in chat up to the point where you can't say anything anymore cause you get silenced, but invading people's privacy is perfectly fine somehow.
