Separated Map Device and Personal Portals

Is there any reality where we can set our portal MTX for use with portal scrolls as whatever it may be, and then choose separately to have our Map Device either use the same portal or a chosen one?

I'm deeply in love with the Vaal Viper Portal, but holy fuck it's butt ugly when used with the map device
