is recombinator even viable now ?

i have been trying to recombine for a base, the chances were all 15 to 28 percent with omen of reocmbination.
tried 20 times, all failed. is this gamba mechanic rigged by the GGG overlords or am i just having a shitty luck ? Last bumped on Oct 31, 2025, 11:02:09 AM

If you failed 20 times with a 20% average + omen of recombination, you should go to the church and get blessed or something. Omen of recombination rolls twice the same roll, which makes it like 35% or whatever with those odds
I would seriously not recommend you leaving your house, otherwise a meteor might fall on your head |

they need to buff the recombinator. Its basically reserved only for the ultra wealthy players that can afford to rebuy failed attempts. There should NEVER be somethin with less than a 10% chance of occurring.

" What are you trying to recombine that you have to be ultra wealthy to buy? The only expensive recombinations would be exceptionals which no one recombines anyway, expensive fractured affix or some very specific affixes on specific item like + spell on bloodstone amulet Recombination is already strong. Unless they nerf crafting by a lot next league by at the very least removing homogenizing exaltation from the game, asking for recombination to be buffed doesn't make any sense Last edited by iHiems#0168 on Oct 31, 2025, 1:47:31 AM

The problem with the recombinator right now is that it's only real use is recombining one T1 affix with one low tier affix. That's how you get good odds. It's just a way to start clean for crafting and save money vs buying a base from the market that's already in a good state. But that's sort of the only use it has because any other use has really low odds of success.

" Perfect example of gambler's fallacy. |

If you are trying to not making items with 2 cool affixes, then you are supposed to be relying on fracturing orbs to increase your odds.
Also, as for the "2 affixes" use case, I think a huge issue limiting the recombinator right now is that the items it generates are always yellow no matter the amount of suffixes/prefixes. If generated items with no more than one suffix and one prefix were blue, then you would be able to use non-perfect Essences on these items and that really increases the odds that your final craft will be really useful. |

I dunno what the price of things are now, but I used it pre-0.3.1. Only on rings. I'd combine T1/T2 damage. % was always single digit or low double digit, didn't use the omen because it cost more than both rings.
I'd buy 10 rings at a time and combine. Just be willing to settle on T2 damage mods when things are too expensive(lightning T1 was too expensive). You get a great ring and pay less. Similar case with weapons or other gear. Pick the 2 things you want, check prices and settle for T2/T3 if necessary. |
