Dreamer's Flame?

Is Dreamer's Flame supposed to kill you as well? It doesn't make any sense to have a button to click something you assume is going to help you (because everything else available does), only for it to kill you without any time to react at all. Act 4, 1,600 life and I instantly died. That's got to be a bug, right?
