New breach boss is a mess.

Dropped the item to access the hive colony and went to fight Esh and Tul. Their alternating first phase wasn't too bad but the second phase with both of them is an absolute clusterduck of a disaster in encounter design. The only viable strategy is to go CI and cheese it, I'm guessing. Or have enough DPS to where there's probably no point in you doing the fight anyway. Either the damage needs to be tuned properly or the bosses just don't use their screen wide attacks every 2 seconds.
Seeing how bad PoE 1s bosses are compared to PoE 2 has probably been the biggest disappointment coming back every league. Last bumped on Nov 11, 2025, 5:17:54 AM

I do agree it is a mess, but more visually than any real issue. I did the encounter at like 2m dps and died once. (life/es icenova hiero, no CI)

I really didn't like that fight, also didn't manage to pull it off either. It seems haphazardly put together.
What rubs me the wrong way in particular is for example how the projectile spray in the first phase is being 'announced' while it's already happening. Compare that to Sirus' attacks where there's nearly an infinity of time's worth to make adjustments in comparison, and I have to wonder why the effort to telegraph anything via audio-cue has even been made to begin with. To think that fighting both at the same time with rather lethal screen-wide attacks made it past testing is honestly astonishing to me. I seriously hope that fight gets reigned in proper. What are you guys even testing these with? 7k HP Juggernauts with like 100k armour and 80 all-res? [quote="ScrotieMcB"]It's just, like, people's opinions, man.

The visual clarity is so bad, and the screen wide near insta-death with not nearly enough tells from full life+es feels bad (6k life+es, 3 endurance charges, only normal max res).
The telegraphs for this fight are just bad, especially compared to Sirus like what was mentioned. I have a feeling there hasn't been much talk about it just due to people not doing it Last edited by Nirosu#5766 on Nov 5, 2025, 4:31:59 PM

Just ended them, didn't die a single time.

I though it was pretty ok.
I see the points people are making about it visually having a lot going on and being a tight arena, but I didn't think it was as hectic as fights like the feared, zigurat, abomination. I know they are higher level encounters, but it didn't seem like an unfair fight to me. The build I'm playing uses fledgling and I was able to get enough distance between them in the arena to still do damage. When it charged mid way into the tight circle I was concerned, but it seems like that mechanic only lasts briefly. It seemed like most of the abilities in the visual clutter did only moderate or less damage. If there is something in there that does large amounts of damage that is hard to identify, that might be bad. Maybe on a recharge build it might be difficult to not get hit long between recharges. I don't know if it was a bug or intentional design, but I had both bosses be invulnerable for ~5sec (maybe more) while shooting balls and whatnot at me. I died once cause there was literally nowhere to go and no way to leech as they were invulnerable. Pretty sure it was a bug though.
Otherwise I didn't find it any harder than any of the other bosses tbf (eater, exarch, incarnations, etc) and I doubt there's anyone who didn't die at least once at those when going in blind (ok mb not the incarnations cause they're stupid easy and have no oneshots). |

what the shrimp are those two dealing damage with? I have 80% EV, 6k ES, CI, 600k single target DPS, stun immunity, 78% all res and still get shredded the minute I step foot in the arena
I'm not saying my build is uber material but come on, shouldn't I at least stand some chance to damage them before dying? Plus, Tul is doing some DoT and it bypasses CI, what is it? |

" Not sure if u changed anything with ur build, but at this time u don't have CI on ur Trickster. So if anything does chaos damage in that fight, it will kill u pretty quickly. PoE2 0.3 Character: https://poe.ninja/poe2/builds/abyss/character/Sadaukar-2191/Acidic_Sadaukar

I don't mind this fight. I did it on a melee build now too. The colour scheme is a bit tough on the eyes, but it seems like a fair fight to me.
