Did they change/nerf recombinator?

Situation: I try to recombine 2 magic items with each 1 prefix, so goal is it turns into rare with both of those prefixes. (old Method with 100% Return Item)
Last league it worked quite well, few fails, maybe 25% chance? Did it multi times with multiple items Now i did the same stuff this league, same item type and prefixes, failed about 15 recombinations in a row (spend like 12hours, 20-30 divines, so basically everything i've farmed and found (for alteration orbs, imprints, annuls etc) am broke and depressed, perhaps i should Just wait for 3.28 at this Point and Not use recombinator at all Last edited by Rikku#7536 on Nov 3, 2025, 6:35:29 PM Last bumped on Nov 6, 2025, 7:28:27 PM

I'm mot a blaster by any means, but it would seem the league mechanic is crapping out item for folks at a pretty good clip. Maybe give that a try.

" 1+1 = 2 was more like 33% or less, definitely not 100% for sure, last league. |

" so you're telling me i failed a 33% chance craft about 15 times in a row?^^ Well, i guess we call that unlucky That picture is nice thanks for sharing Last edited by Rikku#7536 on Nov 4, 2025, 12:10:10 PM

" Im not aware of any changes. You didnt post the particular prefixes which you tried so its hard to answer the question otherwise. And you may be able to use PoE2 recomb instead of annuls - depends on what you want to do though. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

" Poe2 recomb would not work (like 1% Chance) its 2 wands with +1 all spells and T1 spelldamage Anyway i gave up on it after making this thread and Just use the new nebulis, for next League i'll try to avoid recomb at all cost as i dont believe 33% is accurate anymore (litteraly spent that day and some of the day before for more than 10 hours with alteration spam+ recomb to See it all brick in about 15 attempts...never again) Anyway thanks for replies |

" Edit: The purpose in this use case is to extract one mod not to recombine two good mods. Dont know the odds for these mods but its often good for replacing Annuls on rare items: You select the mod on rare item you want. You use another base with a cheap crafted mod (like mana or resist, experiment which gives the best odds, probably cheaper to craft = better odds), select that cheap crafted mod. Result (if it works) is an item with the mod you want and a cheap crafted mod. Typically you get ~50% odds with this method on so-so rare mods, remember doing it on +1 Chaos skills amulet this league which did have ~50% chance to succeed. And the second item base is supposedly almost never chosen as result if the good mod is rare. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle! Purely from personal experience with the recombinator, the less weight a mod has to roll the less likely for it to get transfered while recombining. Also that picture is misleading but that is a hole other story. For example when I am trying to recombine two magic items 1p/1s, with regular weight mods like, flat ES and %ES, I am getting 2p/whatever about 1 out of 5,6 or even 7 times. For me it averages somewhere around those percentages 17%, which is far from the 33% percent of the picture. But your 0/15 suggests the hypothesis I wrote on the first sentence of this post. But your results from the previous league contradicts it. 15 tries with no result is very ordinary though, so you propably recombined about 10 pairs that you had + some more tries with the failed results, something like that? Hats off to you for rolling 10 times (or more) the "+1 to spell gems" mod.
The only nerf on the recombinator I see so far is very subtle but real. You nerf the loots on T17 maps = no more rain of ilvl85/86 bases and decent dust uniques. The flow of raw materials got nerfed. I like standard. Last edited by Spacecom#5362 on Nov 6, 2025, 8:58:23 PM
