Recombinating shouldn't require gold.

We already need gold to get dust (disenchanting). Also needing gold to recombinate feels like a double tax.

the way i see it, when recombinators was reintroduced to poe core, it was done via settlers. where it was tied to "npc services"
poe tends to tie a lot of npc services to gold. and i think its a good way for gold to have value. in fact i think one thing we're missing now is campaign npcs selling things for gold. at the very start i cant afford buying stuff for 1 transmute. but i do have a few gold picked up [Removed by Support]

" Just like retirement. Classic double dip. kappa No, srsly. If you could recombine without gold, you could just print money without ever playing the game, so that is a big nono. I am sure there are still plenty of possibilities to get rich and not play the game, but the gold is absolutely necessary vs these kind of players. |

" Indeed. There should be gold cost to using harvesting bench, or actually an ordinary crafting bench too. Also Niko shouldn't upgrade your vehicle with azurite only, it should ask for some gold too. /s |

" You cannot get dust without some gold, can you? Last edited by phadej#9275 on Nov 5, 2025, 2:54:37 PM

+1
just delete kingsmarch and make recomb cost gold instead or make a disenchanting bench in hideout where u can dust for a gold fee |

Gold being used for every last thing in the game is getting tiresome.
