Living Lightning — Tooltip Confusion & Minion Info Frustrations
|
I’m not really sure where to post this, but this seems like the right place.
I have a few questions (and some frustrations) about the new gem Living Lightning, which ties into my usual Minion Player Problems. Living Lightning — Confusing Buff Numbers The buff icon in the top right corner shows two numbers: The bottom framed number seems to represent the number of active minions — that makes sense. The number inside the icon, which floats between 1 and 5, seems to represent the number of attacks remaining… but that doesn’t make sense, since the skill should only have 3 max attacks without quality. Even after adding quality, this number doesn’t increase. It could also represent duration, since it lasts 5 seconds — but I’ve specced into Skill Duration, and that number doesn’t go up either. So as far as I can tell, it’s one of the following: a) An unclear tooltip (maybe just a visual issue), b) A quality scaling bug, c) A duration scaling bug, or d) I’m missing something obvious. Minion Info — Still Missing Why do we still not have detailed stats for our minions? Playing a minion build feels like being a second-class citizen — we get zero information about what our minions actually do. I understand it’s hard to display this info cleanly in the UI, but at least post it somewhere — even a dev page, the wiki, or working with Path of Building would help. It’s fine that Spectres are complex, but why can’t we see the base damage and attack speed of a simple Skeleton? I’m not even asking for golem slams or aura data — just the bare minimum so we can make informed stat choices. If the stance is “we can’t or won’t show it in-game,” then please work with PoB or the wiki to make that data available ASAP. Design Thoughts At first, I thought Living Lightning would convert your hit into a minion attack, meaning the stronger your hit, the stronger the minion — that would make an Cool Hybrid Mage-minion build possible. But apparently that’s not how it works. As it stands, minion scaling feels incredibly limited — usually there’s only one correct scaling path, and if a minion doesn’t fit that, it’s just bad. Please give us more ways to scale minions! Let us convert elemental damage, interact with other damage types, or benefit from “normal” stats like a non-minion build can. I’m really frustrated right now — there’s a fun new minion skill, and I literally can’t tell how it works. Last bumped on Nov 11, 2025, 7:07:21 AM

The number that goes up to 5 in the corner of the minion portrait is the number of summon procs you have available. Living Lightning has a maximum of 5 procs, and one recharges every 0.2 seconds.
It took me a while to figure out what that was about. I realised what it was when I tried doing Ultimatum, took the 500% slower cooldowns penalty and then noticed I hardly had any damage. The number was stuck at 0-1 and cycling very slowly. I have to agree on the minion stats. I've been playing Living Lightning Necromancer as my league starter and having to trial and error what works and what doesn't because I have no idea if I'm making them stronger or weaker. Just hoping PoB adds stats for them soon. |
