On the deprecation of Bestiary as a core mechanic

I think it goes without saying that most of the community likes what Bestiary has to offer in terms of craft utility. However, Bestiary itself continues to exacerbate problems with the game that are not present with other mechanics. This post will go into these at some length.

1. Botting/Multiboxing, despite the nerf, there are still people who run large bot nets to farm Kirac bestiary. This is hopefully more apparent to people with trade, as loading into a shop with 864 vivid vultures below market price is decisively not human. These crafts could easily be folded into another part of the game like the graft tree which has it's own issues in invalidating other crafting methods with regards to rare items, but none of the multiplayer duping aspects of Bestiary.

2. Trading improvements have rendered the "rare beast" a relic of the past. No one wants to buy these beasts 1 at a time for 3000g/piece, and so everyone still continues, and will continue to use TFT as the means of trading for them as a result.

3. Bestiary in maps while providing a challenge early on that usually isn't worth the player's time, can also just waste the player's time when waiting for Einhar to throw the net still when the player is much more powerful and doesn't want to run the mechanic. There is no way to block it, and it's just a potential lag generator when it spawns with allies cannot die and the player is using a skill like Kinetic Blast.

4. The User Interface for Bestiary is archaic. That it's attached to H is in itself a bad design choice, but the folder tabs prioritize style over substance in providing utility for sorting and sealing beasts while now free is still a tedious task for people who actually farm the mechanic.

Everything Bestiary provides should be folded into the core game either through current mechanics or future ones and then Einhar should go hang out with Zana on the distant shores forever.

Rude, but ok...
Trvke
I love bestiery since the changes, I also don't see how kirac changes anything, the multi boxing with more than one account doesn't give gaurenteed beasts anymore and that one guy who has all the vultures on std probably just plays more than we do.

I also sell yellows and enjoy it, I think bestiery is fine where it is.

Edit - and I don't use tft to sell my beasts either

+1 to this. I've always loved bestiary (and the lore behind it + Einhar). Cheaters and bots are part of every game of this kind at this point. Expecting them to not be an issue in any MO is naive as hell. No one has found a solution to this problem and I doubt they ever will. It sucks and you learn to live with it. If you have a solution, by all means I'm sure everyone would LOVE to hear it.

I do beasts every league and enjoy it and I've never used TFT for anything (and never will). The QOL changes were a nice way to show some love to my boy Einhar. Hoping for many more to come.

Would love to see this content expanded, but definitely not replaced or worse, just gone (like TOTA)

@GGG pls bring TOTA back :'(

Every beastiary craft could be translated to horticrafting lol. And then horticrafting could have an overhaul. Maybe 2 new colours? Maybe some new interactions with the plants?
now you mention it. i kinda failed to realize what was core and what was extra.

theres a lot of core mechanics that i would prefer if we could block them similar to how we can block extra mechanics.

i want to have fun. i want to enjoy mapping seeing stuff that i enjoy rather than stuff that i dont.

einhar's beasts are FUN when i m strong. but when i m weak, they can be tanky and pose a threat to my portal. similarly getting ambushed by an intervention out of nowhere can be very frustrating. especially when you've just started an event not realizing they 've appeared a sec or two right before you clicked.

if i can choose to get rid of ONE core mechanic. it would simply be shrines.
