When are we leaving early access?

Around the early months of the launch of the game, im quite certain Jonathan said in a QaA that he wanted to stay in EA for atmost a year.

Leaving EA with missing content, if it was necessary, was also said.

Now a full year is almost a few weeks away, but is the exit from EA? And if not, what is the plan for that now?

I'd say we are two years away.

6 patches, 4 months apart. 24 months. Two years.

Are you assuming that 1.0 equals a total of 9 updates after 0.1? GGG doesn't use that format to number their game versions. 1.0 could very well be after 0.16 if they would have it that way. Or 0.4

I assume 6 more releases, considering the not released classes.

I guess when we get all the guys the party will start.

This seems to me at least a year, more likely two.

For one year the only thing we got was the amazon.

We get druid at the start of the second year, and I expect at least one more for the templar.

Weapons, skill gems, missing ascendancy.

Should be 5-6 patches.

I'm pretty sure this question was asked directly in an interview and the answer was the campaign finished and whatever skills/characters available in a good place.

does it matter? full release will just be the equivalent of a big patch with a bunch of trailers and hype around it

Yeah it matters, it is when the game will transition from paid entry to Free to Play for everyone.

I mean what do you mean "free to play"?
What will you do exactly?

Farm ACT1/ACT2 for low level spirit gems?
Please explain yourself.

What will you do without merchant stash tabs?
Where do you place your currency?
Where do you store your items?

Nowhere.
You wont have enough place even for your way stones.


You can play the campaign.
AKA: 16 hours tutorial how to play the game.

And that is it.

Thing is, PoE2 being Free To Play is market anomaly. They know it, and they will keep paid access as long as they will have huge updates which will bring new players. Making it F2P now would be insanely stupid.
