Minion Builds Deserve Better: Specter and AG Death Still Ruins Entire Maps

Specters may have seen a small quality-of-life upgrade, but for anyone playing Necromancer or other minion-centric setups, the system is still fundamentally broken. When your core units die, the entire map is effectively over—and no amount of “you get them back next session” softens that blow.

1: Specters and Animate Guardian are *core build pieces*, not optional extras; losing them mid-map instantly guts your damage, defense, and utility.
2: Other builds can die, re-enter, and keep going with zero penalty—minion players instead watch their run collapse because their companions evaporated.
3: Forcing players to resummon an Animate Guardian only in another area makes it completely useless for actual mapping or difficult encounters.
4: “Get them back next instance” isn’t a solution when the current instance is already lost the moment they die.
5: Path of Exile 2 already shows the correct approach: minions should automatically revive, because the game acknowledges they are part of your character’s identity, not expendable garbage.

This needs to change because no build should be uniquely punished for simply playing the game. Automatic revival of Specters and Animate Guardian would finally put minion players on equal footing and stop entire maps from being thrown away over a single unlucky death.

Do you remember when your AG dying meant losing the items used on it? :)

Or when losing an itemized spectre meant you have to buy it again for 20 div?

You're not supposed to let your minions die (unless they're temporary like SRS). Dying a lot is for bow players.

What's really annoying though is that all these changes haven't fixed losing your itemized spectres if you so much as look at the socket holding raise spectre wrong.

(I tried to play minions in PoE 2 at launch. Whatever those are they don't feel like PoE 1 minions. But I'm used to it, i was mesmer player in Guild Wars 1 and looky what they did to it in GW 2...)
