Hammer of the Gods Rework

I love the improvements to POE2 over the past few leagues, but I miss 0.1 Hammer of the Gods. I understand the dilemma from a Dev perspective, wanting players to experience the content and bosses, and avoiding one shots too early into the endgame. However, HotG has become unplayable for the past two leagues, and there aren't any change in the 0.4 patch notes. HotG gem level scaling was gutted, and the glory mechanic makes one shotting bosses impractical. If you have enough damage to one shot the boss with HotG, it will die anyway before it's stunned to generate glory. Additionally, rolling slam is just a better skill. It scales harder at max gem level, 50% damage boost against heavy stunned enemies (which is every HotG target now), no glory requirements, and no massive cast time where the bosses can move. HotG is unusable in it's current state. It's supposed to be one of the capstone theme-defining skills for maces, and it's damage should be adjusted accordingly. More importantly, the glory mechanic needs to be reworked to make the skill usable. Half the builds in the game scale into a one button pinnacle kill deep into the endgame. HotG should do the same.

Hammer of the Gods got nerfed because melee can never kill a boss faster than GGG's favorite ranged classes.

I liked it pre-nerf. Made chronomancer actually viable for melee. On top of the fact that you could gamble with it and chain hammers like crazy.
With the glory mechanic, it's so extremely unsatisfying. |
