Why did you lie about walker of the wilds?

I'm not getting a good answer here and i feel like this shouldn't be allowed to be swept under the rug. So whats the deal? Osins Oath was supposed to be its replacement. Its not. It only works with spells. I feel an explanation is in order. Why lie?
