Wolf is to reliant on freeze to deal damage

I'm not sure why this is a thing
But some bosses are almost impossible to freeze
like i would need to hit with lunar assault like over 50 times
While other bosses freeze in 2 to 3 hits

Pure wolf doesn't seem really viable because of this

No freeze means losing not only a ton of %cold as extra
You also lose the ice fragments from shred and wolf has no alternative for single target

agree doriyani is one example. it tooks ages to get a single freeze on him.
Guess it's about maps because campaign bosses are melting with oracle wolf and trashy gears...use freezing mark to help with freeze.
I'm not using it and freeze bosses very quickly so it might help you.

Yes only have had this be an issue in high level maps
And it's mostly fine it just something that happens from time to time
Use elemental spells to apply exposure and weakness. It’ll make a big difference.
Agree but there's more to it.

I am playing through trying out the druid abilities. The +50% lightning damage on wyvern rend is easy to maintain and just seems a lot more powerful than the other forms, for both single target and area targets.

The freeze stuff just seems slow and unnecessary.

There should be a way to utilize frenzy charges for the wolf and endurance for the bear.

Right now the wolf basic attack has both less area and less damage than the wyvern one. Even trying to get freeze involved with other abilities, it is much slower than the other forms/builds.

PoE 1 had some good supports that added cold damage per frenzy charge, so you could synergize frenzy and cold damage really well. (ice bite?)

What class/ascendancy are you playing?
Oracle got some very good damage nodes and like i said i'm using trashy gears, looking at this damage seems very odd to not be able to scale it more on maps. I'm not even crit hitting.
Savage fury? Also some penetration/curse too.
I'm playing wolf only, not shapeshifting to human.

+1. the endgame bosses whether it's an uber or a deadly boss from the map. they have like 30 million hp. it's simply not possible to take a big enough chunk of their health. I have an 800dps weapon. 63% penetration on my tree. i absolutely face roll through maps. the bosses are insane though. combine that with the mana costs of this build... i just did the twin fight i dont know their names the vaal ones... it would take me at least 10k mana to get one frozen, and even then it's a 2-3 second window that i can do damage and they have like 50 million hp now. i can get maybe 4-5 million damage in that small amount of time but before long i'm out of flasks and just running around til my mana fills up again so i can go in and swing 10 times and then run away. i absolutely love werewolf, but it goes from fun bossing to incredibly frustrating bosses. if you can't freeze you are worthless and they've made it so you cant freeze. exposure/pen/mark do not do enough and the mana... sorry for the rant, im just annoyed at losing these deadly boss fights because i can't freeze the boss...
I agree 100%, the werewolf relies on freeze too much to actually do any real damage

they really should add cold conversion to all the werewolf skills and buff the duration of lunar blessing.
