Can we talk about the new League Mechanic... Vaal Temple... It is awful end game

So the new league mechanic, the only update we got in 0.4 unless ur playign druid


Its slow, cumbersum, highly punishing and just doesn't work as a stand alone league mechanic...

I have to run 6 maps on an atlas i hate, just to come back to run the temple, that then despawns loads of rooms...

go back do another 6 maps.. same again

And to cap it off the loot is a joke, Regal and exalt upgrades/??

Do you think it can be changed or saved? what a disappointment compared to the abysyal league last season

I don't like the temple much. Idk it seems like a good idea but there's too many problems with it.

1) The room building is not explained at all. I kind of started just slapping stuff down randomly and eventually sort of learned but it's still very unclear to me how to optimally plan and build.

2) Might be better if we had a bigger pool of tiles then the option to place only 6 of them. Particularly I never get the paths I need so it's kind of whatever.

3) If you don't build it optimally you will very quickly outpace the rewards it drops (I'm going to assume even if it's optimal the builds aren't that great). Eg I don't need a thing that gives my gems 3 slots when they all have at least 3 slots.

4) Large temples take way too long to run. At first it seemed fine but as my temple grew larger I found it took an inordinately long time to full sweep each room to complete the temple. This is a problem cause during the campaign you really want to just progress the story and in the atlas you really want to just complete your atlas stuff - no one really wants to take huge breaks for some unrewarding time sink.

I don't think it's unsalvageable but needs work. I think a better approach to charging up the zone would be every 6 vaal portal things you find drops a currency you can use to run the temple. That way you can save up temple runs and block out some time to actually focus on doing the temple.
I just reached the Architect for the first time, did the whole map which took like 20 min w/o a single reward (no benches, nothing, bug?), entered the Room the Architect is in, and not even 2 seconds into the fight he did his screenwide "ice aoe" and instagibbed me. Cant reenter the area, had to close the temple and iam forced to do it all again.

Guess iam done with the temple.

EDit: forgot to mention it deleted my path to the Architect too.
For me it is the lack of rewards that kills it. It felt really good in the campaign, but now in the atlas it is complete drought. The occasional artificers orb, lesser jewels orb and if it is a truly wild run I get an exalted workbench.

The pathing is really bad too. Have to agree on that one. It like pulling teeth.
