Deterministic farming - Uncut Skill Gems - Gear

In POE1 the depths have areas that have increased chances for gear with certain types of modifiers. It would be great if you ported this idea over to the BIOMES of the atlas in POE2. It would increase the value of ground loot exponentially. It would allow you to target farm for gear and it would give you an additional drive to explore the atlas.

Let's take this idea and apply it to the campaign in regards to skill gems. Right now Skill gems are in a bad place. The player needs more deterministic ways to farm Skill gems. One solution to this could be like the Mines zone dropping more quality currency. Maybe every other act there could be a zone that drops more gems. Maybe certain monsters could have a higher chance to drop gems if they are made of stone, crystals, or earthen materials.

Additional notes - Why i made this post is because the limited skill gems caused me to hit a wall I could not over come. I farmer for an hour and still had no luck. It felt really bad.
