Mushroom Betrayal
|
Hello
I'm returning to PoE2 after a year and a half. I didn't get very far in my first playthrough, about 70% through Act 2. This time, I got through Act 3 so far. I've got to say, I'm having a really strong emotional reaction to your Mushroom quest. It's got me feeling very betrayed. You've more or less invented an in-game virus that destroys inventory slots. You never tell me what I'm supposed to do with the mushrooms. I thought I had explored Apex of Filth fully, so I never thought to go back and look for a mysterious merchant or even the third mushroom. I just walked through the second half of the act, trusting that the devs wouldn't put something like this in the game, and not wanting to utilize outside resources so I could experience the mystery. I wish I had just looked it up. Now I have to go back and clear the entire zone again searching for the third mushroom and vendor. I wanted to destroy these items - the reward is total shit and I don't even want it - but you won't allow us to do that at all. Maybe I am having such a strong reaction because every important person in my life has betrayed me this year. My ex, my mother, my best friend, my family. I thought that maybe video gaming was still a pure experience where one could trust that the devs wouldn't intentionally create a system to do...what exactly? Nuke my inventory slots and give me some vendor fodder once I give up and google why I can't seem to get these idiotic items out my inventory? Thanks for ending my year knowing that we really do live in an era where self-discovery is pointless and you should just google everything. If you want my real suggestion, the quest is fine, just make the items destroyable. Last bumped on Dec 21, 2025, 5:44:41 PM

You can go out into any campaign area and just drop the mushrooms on the ground.
