The "Standard" League Naming Is Misleading for New Players (UX Feedback)

In Path of Exile 2, the current league-selection UX unintentionally pushes new players—and even guild members—into the Standard league.
 From a new player's perspective: Both options look nearly identical visually. The term "Standard" strongly implies default or recommended. "Fate of Vaal" sounds like a temporary event rather than the main progression path. The distinction between Trade / Self-Found / Solo is unclear: What does Self-Found mean? How is it different from Solo? Is Self-Found a challenge mode or just a restriction? As a result, many players start in Standard without understanding that they are opting out of the seasonal progression, economy reset, and active content loop that defines the main experience. UX Proposal Visually center and emphasize the current seasonal league Larger banner Central placement Explicit "Recommended for new players" label De-emphasize Standard Place it behind an expandable option (arrow / "Advanced options") Clearly communicate that it contains characters from previous leagues Rename "Standard" I propose renaming it to a term that clearly communicates that this is not where players want to start in the overwhelming majority of cases. For example: Legacy Archive Legacy Characters Past Leagues Archive Non-Seasonal Realm Eternal Realm (Legacy) This is not a balance or design issue—it is a first-impression UX problem. Some legit criticism and suggestion, however some of the stuff currently gives info when you highlight it.

" Yes but that makes little sense since a lot of people enter the wrong league and they don't know it. It did not happen to me but its like all new players choose "standard" and then they remake when they figure out what it is. |
